COVID-19 Thai Rock Cluster Attends Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral

NSW Health is directing anyone who visited the Harris Park, Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral, between Wednesday 15 July and Friday 17 July to immediately self-isolate for 14 days. NSW Health also requests that you get tested even if you are not experiencing symptoms.

The alert comes following a confirmed visit from a person with COVID-19 linked to the Thai Rock restaurant cluster on four occasions. Two additional parishioners who also attended Mass on these days, have now also returned a positive result for COVID-19. They are both in isolation.

NSW Health is currently working with the parish to contact worshippers who attended and signed the attendance sheet.

Anyone who visited the Cathedral on these following days must self isolate for 14 days:

• Wednesday 15 July – 5.30 pm Mass
• Thursday 16 July – 6 pm Mass
• Friday 17 July – 1.30 pm Funeral
• Friday 17 July – 6 pm Mass

NSW Health also requests those not experiencing symptoms to still get tested. Anyone who visited the Church since 15 July outside of these specific times should also closely monitor for symptoms and get tested if they begin to feel unwell, no matter how mild their symptoms are.

From the 21 July, a pop-up clinic in the car park of Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral will be set up by the Western Sydney Local Health District for the next four days from 9 am to 4.30 pm.

Other testing clinics are available at the following locations:

• Westmead Hospital, 7 am – 9 pm, 7 days
• The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, 10 am – 8 pm, 7 days (for children and their accompanying parents/carers)
• Merrylands Stockland Drive-through Clinic, 9 am – 4 pm, 7 days
• Homebush Drive-through Clinic, 8:30 pm – 4 pm, 7 days.

Currently undergoing cleaning, the Cathedral has remained closed since Saturday evening as a precautionary measure for the public.
