Written by on 16 August 2019

Alive 90.5 FM have been announced as a finalist at the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia‘s annual Community Broadcasting Awards for the second year in a row!

Last year, our sports team brought it home from the Gold Coast to The Hills, for their outstanding performance in Sports Programming.

This year, we head down to Melbourne with two finalists. Former member Matthew Brokenbrough is a finalist in the Excellence in Technical Services category. Dimitri & Bex are finalists in the Best Radio Program: Music category with their Mediterranean Mix show.

Dimitri and Bex: The Mediterranean Mix

Dimitri and Bex from The Mediterranean Mix are finalists for Best Radio Program: Music. The show showcases different shades of new and traditional folk, ballads and instrumentals from the Mediterranean. Listen to their high quality music show each Saturday night from 9pm.

Matthew Brokenbrough

Mid-last year, Matthew started his journey on improving Alive 90.5 using skills he’d learnt at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) and Blacktown’s local station.

Fast-track to later in 2018 all the way into early 2019, Matthew spent every spare moment he had setting up Alive’s new playout system. This included Matthew training all 56+ of our presenters on how to confidently use the system during his summer break.

Good luck to Matthew, Dimitri and Bex! Let’s bring another one home to The Hills!
