Planet Country Reaches 200th Show

Big Stu & MJ have been presenting their award winning modern (“New Country”) country music program since 5th June 2014. This Thursday they will celebrate a milestone with their 200th episode!

After weeks and weeks of live studio guests, Big Stu & MJ will celebrate the achievement on their own but have a major announcement in store that listeners “cannot afford to miss”.

“A huge change is coming to Planet Country. The biggest change in the show’s history. Listeners cannot afford to miss out on this major announcement.”
MJ on the aforementioned announcement, to be made during their 200th show.

Before launching Planet Country with son MJ, Big Stu had previously been a part of the station’s test broadcast team in the late 80’s. During the 90’s, Stu co-presented ‘Radio Overdrive’, a heavy metal show, and presented Saturdays in Style – a station music program during our run as a smooth jazz station.

In 2014, after years of frustration in the lack of media support for New Country, Big Stu sort to return to the airwaves. This time he brought his son and digital content expert along. Big Stu’s background in radio and MJ’s digital content skills helped catapult the show into stardom and become a recognisable media force in the industry.

Planet Country regularly features live studio guests and plays the latest releases from Australian and international New Country artists. Big Stu & MJ describe New Country as ‘Music For A New Generation’ as the country-rock and country-pop sound that is New Country can easily fit in on rock and pop radio stations respectively.
