This group was an American/Canadian vocal group who performed mainly from 1965 to 1968 – with a brief reunion in 1971. They have sold nearly 40 million records worldwide.
Their signature sound was based on 4 part male/female harmonies arranged by the band’s songwriter, John Phillips, who blended his writing with the new “beat” sound in an unprecedented style for those days.
Their lead singer, Cass Elliot passed away in London on 29th July 1974.
The group was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
