Safe & Sound

Safe & Sound is an Arabic program, appealing to Arabic speaking youth and seniors, engaging the Arabic speaking community in Cumberland, Parramatta and the Hills. Safe & Sound aims to educate listeners about crime and crime prevention, the role of the police and what’s happening in the area.
Safe & Sound content will focus on educating the community about current news, events and services. Topics will vary between scams, Domestic Violence, Drugs and other important issues affecting the residents of the area.
Safe & Sound include: Police updates. Local news and current affairs, music and living in Western Sydney. Living safely series which includes, safety out and about, reporting crimes, domestic violence, scams and fraud, safety on the internet, senior’s safety, fines and latest COVID-19 restrictions and legislation.
Safe & Sound crew
Heba Kassoua grew up between Syria and the Central Coast of NSW. She holds a Masters degree in Interpreting and Translation & NAATI level 3 from the University of Western Sydney. Heba also holds a Bachelor degree in Arts, Government and International relations and Arabic and Islamic Studies as well as Arabic Literature from the University of Sydney. Heba worked as a research assistant and as a court interpreter and translator prior to joining SBS Radio.
