Alive 90.5FM is proud to share information about the 2026 South African Film Festival and give listeners the chance to experience South African cinema online and in person.

The South African Film Festival 2026 runs from 21 June to 26 July across Australia and New Zealand, with films screening in cinemas and online. This year’s program features 33 films across a range of genres, including drama, comedy, documentaries, short films, music, conservation stories and emerging Australian-South African filmmakers.

Now in its eighth year, the South African Film Festival is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit festival known as “The Festival with a Conscience”, with proceeds supporting Education Without Borders and youth education and mentorship programs in South Africa.

The 2026 program includes films exploring community, resilience, family, identity, history, conservation, culture and the South African diaspora.
