This week, the Australian government responded to the Universal Periodic Review, examining the human rights record of every UN member state.

The Federal government accepted 128 recommendations out of 332, equivalent to a 39 percent, being the lowest acceptance by the government in 20 years.

Some of the proposals left out for action are legalising a human rights act and raising the age of criminal responsibility on a national level.
