Volunteering Opportunities in Parramatta
Written by Darryn Capes-Davis on 6 May 2020
If you are looking for ways to help others in the community at this time who may be isolated and vulnerable, local services need help now and volunteering opportunities are available. Many services are seeking the assistance of community members to reach out to those who might be socially isolated, and ensure food and other essentials reach them. Most volunteer positions simply require a willingness to learn and help others, but you can find positions that put your skill sets to good use.
Volunteer positions available with local emergency relief providers and other essential services include:
- Client Service Officers
- Administration Support Officers
- Meal delivery drivers and support workers
- Household Essential items drivers
Some positions may require a Working With Children Check (WWCC) via Service NSW which can be made online. If you are a volunteer, you will not need to pay the fee.
Services may list opportunities individually or may list them via websites that collate all the opportunities available with various services. Council also has volunteering opportunities, but they use a collated list website service (SEEK Volunteer) to advertise the specific positions available.
