Nat “King” Cole was an incredibly successful pop singer who was ranked with Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Dean Martin in his heyday.
His career included hit records, international touring, radio and TV shows as well as appearances in movies.
His career began as a celebrated jazz pianist, leading his own small group of musicians.
He was a civil rights activist who earned the enmity of racists and he led the way for many others to follow.
He had many hit records but sadly passed away at just 45 years of age from lung cancer in 1965.
