Know Your Rights: Toongabbie Legal Centre presents 10 Free Legal Seminars for Residents

Toongabbie Legal Centre is pleased to announce the launch of its Community Legal Education Series to celebrate thirteen years of providing free legal advice and advocacy. Ten free legal seminars will be held every Saturday between 10 October – 12 December in the Hills Shire Council, Blacktown City Council, City of Parramatta and Cumberland Council areas. Listen and engage with our Expert Panel of judicial officers, barristers, solicitors and technical specialists, in addressing topical legal issues affecting ordinary members of our communities every day.

Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, the Governor of NSW and Patron, Toongabbie Legal Centre Inc. has said: “I am pleased to learn that despite the COVID19 situation Toongabbie Legal Centre has decided to conduct their ten seminars series on a range of legal issues… I am pleased recommend these seminars to you”.

“Following the success of the Toongabbie Legal Centre 2017 Seminar Series, celebrating its 10th Anniversary, followed by 2018 and 2019 Seminar Series, TLC is delighted to announce details of its 2020 seminar series with the support of the NSW Law Society, the Bar Association of NSW and a number of other organisations”, said Mr John Nolan, Coordinator of the Seminar Series 2020.

Toongabbie Legal Centre has proudly provided free legal advice to the community since 13 October 2007. TLC facilitates a free drop-in service on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings at St Anthony’s Church, Toongabbie. A self-funded legal service of a dedicated team, led by Honorary Director Susai Benjamin, raises funds through its annual fundraising dinner, selling of raffle tickets, and donations. The Seminar Series is one of the ways TLC continues to provide for community legal
education.
