Statement from Ken Smith, Vice President, Hambledon Cottage Guide Co-ordinator.

We are indeed experiencing difficult and extraordinary times. The current COVID-19 Pandemic is causing huge interruption to many organisations and businesses.

The National Trust has today announced that the Heritage Festival has been cancelled for this year and they have closed for the time being many of their properties across the state. This includes Experiment Farm Cottage and Old Government House.

Museum & Galleries NSW are also encouraging all volunteer-run museums and galleries to close to the public. Many other heritage organisations are temporarily closing to the public.

In view of the above developments and as the health and safety of the community is vital, it is with regret that our Society Council has decided to immediately cancel all meetings, tours and gatherings until at least the end of April 2020.

  • Hambledon Cottage Guided Tours will not proceed.
  • Guest Speakers on the third Monday of each month has been postponed.

we will review the situation by the end of April to see if the closure needs to be extended.
