Alive 90.5 FM proudly celebrated Harmony Day by uniting the Hills, Cumberland, and Parramatta communities in honouring cultural diversity through international cuisine, music, dance, and storytelling, fostering appreciation for different traditions and shared values of respect, resilience, and belonging. The celebration began with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by Jie Pittman’s family, followed by speeches from Federal Minister Alex Hawke, Mayor Michelle Byrne and Member for Castle Hill Mark Hodges, who acknowledged Alive 90.5 FM’s vital community role, while Deputy Mayor Frank de Masi shared his immigrant journey, emphasizing acceptance and forgiveness. Distinguished guests included Monica Tudehope MP, Morris Licata, Frank, Councillor Sylvia Alafaci, and Peter Ciani, while performances by Lily Guerrero, DJ Emerson, Harmony Steps, Samoa Matalasi, Cook Island Day Dance Group, Farihah Anjum, Chinese Top Bowl, and Scupriri brought cultural traditions to life. This year’s theme, We all have a role to play, resonated throughout the event and special thanks go to Chairman Andsley Dennis and the organising committee for creating an unforgettable celebration that embodied the spirit of Harmony Day and highlighted the strength of diversity within our community.
